TreePlotter to Showcase New Hybrid Tree Inventory Technology at SALTEX 2026
TreePlotter Parks by PlanIT Geo will return to SALTEX in November to showcase TreeD Hybrid Tree Inventories, a new approach designed to make large-scale tree data collection faster, more accurate and easier to maintain.
Launched in April 2026, TreeD combines high-resolution mobile LiDAR, 360-degree imaging and review by ISA Certified Arborists. The hybrid model brings together automated data collection and professional expertise, allowing each element to focus on what it does best.
Vehicle or backpack-mounted scans capture detailed information about trees, surrounding vegetation and nearby infrastructure. Automated processing then identifies trees and calculates measurements including diameter, height and crown volume, before certified arborists review and refine the results.
Rather than requiring a full manual survey, arborist time can be focused on trees that need closer assessment, including those identified as potentially at risk. This can make the process more scalable and cost-effective for organisations managing large tree populations.
The resulting information integrates with TreePlotter™, turning raw data into practical maps, dashboards and work orders that can be used to support ongoing management and decision-making.
TreeD is also designed to address one of the challenges associated with traditional one-time inventories: data quickly becoming outdated. Organisations can rescan and validate their tree populations over time, helping them monitor changes in growth, canopy and risk without beginning an entirely new inventory during each cycle.
The technology is intended for municipalities, public works and parks departments, utility companies and consulting arborists managing tree inventories at a citywide or regional scale.
TreePlotter Parks by PlanIT Geo first exhibited at SALTEX in 2022 and will return for the event’s historic 80th edition at the NEC Birmingham on 11–12 November 2026.
