With the climate rapidly changing, the management and growth of our urban forests and trees to make our towns and cities livable has never been more important. Good urban forestry management starts with better design of schemes, planting less and maintaining more as well as looking at species choice for hotter and wetter conditions. Once young trees are established young tree maintenance for better form needs to be part of any good program. From a policy side, what should you be adopting, Tree equity, 3.30.300, CAVAT (Capital asset valuation of amenity trees) all of which can help protect existing trees from damage and target resources where they will most benefit residents. If your tasked with improving your urban forests but not sure where to start, come along to this informative session to find out more from our experts.
