Dean has 18 years’_experience in the sports turf industry. He began his career in sports turf as a student groundsman at Twickenham stadium in 2005 and went on to work as a groundsman for Chelsea FC at both the stadium and training ground where he achieved a Level 3 qualification in Sports Turf Management. To add to his practical skills and experience Dean also studied for a degree in Management and Leadership. He joined Championship Sports Surfacing in 2012 as a contracts manager where he was the acting Head Groundsman at venues that regularly hosted high-profile events such as base camps for the 2015 Rugby World cup producing surfaces for New Zealand and Wales and for NFL teams travelling to play at Wembley Stadium each year. In 2018, Dean Joined Idverde Sports Surfaces as a Senior Projects Manager. During this time, he managed the construction and renovation of hybrid pitches across the UK and France. He worked closely with the Mixto Hybrid solution as the sole installer and regularly took part in workshops across the world connecting and sharing experiences with other installers of the same product. Dean joined ProPitch/Sports Labs in 2021 as a Sports Turf Consultant and has since managed the delivery of the Pitch Quality Programmes for multiple major events and tournaments including UEFA Europa League, Conference League and Champions League Finals, UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 and 2025, Africa Cup of Nations 2023, UEFA Men’s EURO 2024 and Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.
