Stadium Operations and Pitch Expert, UEFA

Holding degrees in Sports Science and Law, Lee spent eight years at Labosport UK testing Sports surfaces and technologies for governing bodies and federations including natural and artificial turf for football, rugby and field hockey as well as athletics tracks, tennis courts and indoor sports halls.

During this time, Lee worked on projects for major events around the world including the 2012 London Olympics, the 2014 FIFA World cup in Brazil, the 2016 Copa America and the 2016 FIFA Club World cup in Japan.

His current role involves the management of UEFA’s various pitch support programmes across club and national team competitions of the men’s and women’s game including the finals of the Champions League and the men’s and women’s European Championships.

These pitch support programmes involve stadia across Europe and seek to provide support to UEFA’s members in improving the quality of pitches by creating guidelines and resources, sharing best practice and by engaging expert agronomists and grounds managers.

Lee is the pitch manager for the UEFA Champions League final and coordinates the many stakeholders who interact with the pitch and the surrounding area in the buildup to the final, including overseeing the ceremony and rehearsal process.
