Are animals allowed at SALTEX and the NEC? 

Guide dogs are allowed on site. Other animals are not permitted.   

Are children allowed to attend SALTEX?  

SALTEX is not a suitable for children under the age of 16.

 What banking or cash point facilities are there at SALTEX?

The nearest cash machine to the SALTEX exhibition is in the Atrium, found opposite Hall 8. There is a charge for using these machines. There are no banking facilities at the NEC.  

What catering or food will be available? 

The NEC offers a selection of different bars, cafes, restaurant concepts and sandwich shops that cater for everyone's taste and requirements. The NEC provides its own catering facilities in Halls 6, 7 and 8. There are other catering outlets in the Atrium area.  

What cloakroom facilities will be available at SALTEX?

The cloakroom is found next to Hall 6 and Hall 7 main entrance. 

 What disabled facilities are available at SALTEX?

To view all the disabled facilities on-site, full details of disable facilities can be found on the NEC website. This includes information on disability access, parking, toilets, hearing assistance, medical facilities and mobility equipment hire.  

Is disabled parking available for Blue Badge holders?

Disabled parking will be inside Hall 16. If aid is needed from the car park to the exhibition halls, please contact the Organiser’s Office. The blue disabled badge will need to be displayed to secure parking in Hall 16.  

Will there be Wi-Fi at SALTEX? 

There is free Wi-Fi in all areas of the NEC. Simply follow this 3-step process:   

  • Ensure the Wi-Fi is enabled on your device.   

  • View the available wireless networks and select ‘_NEC Free Wi-Fi’ then click ‘Connect.’   

  • Open your internet browser and follow the on-screen instructions to register.   

What lost property facilities will there be at SALTEX?

All lost property must be handed into the Organiser’s Office, found by the entrance to Hall 7. Please report any lost or stolen items to the organisers. Any items left at the end of the exhibition will be left with the NEC security.   

Can I vape in the NEC?

The NEC has a no smoking or vaping policy in all halls and throughout all public areas. 

Will taxis be available at SALTEX?

TOA is the NEC on-site taxi provider. There will be two taxi ranks at the NEC main entrance, Atrium one and two. The TOA booking number is: 0121 427 8888 or 0800 0142729. 

 Who are the organisers of SALTEX?

SALTEX is owned and operated by the Grounds Management Association (GMA), the not-for-profit membership organisation representing the grounds care industry. 

 Is SALTEX a profit-making venture?

All profits generated by SALTEX are ploughed back into the grounds care industry, supporting delivery of the specialist training, education and membership services provided by the Grounds Management Association.

How do I become a GMA member?

 Contact the GMA Membership team to discuss the best membership options for you. 

Membership fees start from as little as £28 per year for students and retired grounds people. Individual membership fees start from less than £1 per week.  Find out more on the GMA website.
